Pumice, Lapilli, Zeolites and Volcanic Mixes, thanks to their peculiar characteristics of porosity and lightness, are commonly used in the cultivation of many ornamental and horticultural plants. Used in mixtures with organic compounds and fertilizers of various kinds, they constitute an excellent draining skeleton with good water retention characteristics and exchange of the chemical elements involved in plant nutrition.
Building
Europomice volcanic products are used in construction due to their thermal and acoustic insulation, lightness and breathability characteristics.
Dried and Micronized
Europomice’s dried and micronized volcanic products are used in various sectors – from organic agriculture, to abrasives, to premixed products for construction, to the absorption of oils and industrial liquids and to numerous other fields of use – due to their high quality and selective cation exchange power, liquid retention, lightness, solubility and porosity.
Filtrations
Volcanic products are particularly suitable for mechanical and biological filtration.
Their specific applications include phytoremediation, industrial water treatment, and drinking water purification.
In gas filtration, particularly for atmospheric emissions of odorous and polluting elements, pumice, lapilli, and zeolites have been shown to significantly reduce the load.
Absorption
Dried pumice is a natural, non-toxic, silica-free product, suitable for absorbing spilled oils, lubricants, and polluting liquids. Easy to spread, it allows for ideal agglomeration of spills and excellent surface cleaning without leaving any residue.
The 200-850 and 850-3000 micron grain sizes are certified for road use.
